2nd year students organised a French café on Thursday afternoon. We set up the room café style, had a menu, music to create the mood and even a moustachioed waiter! Students tried baguette, pains au chocolat, Brie, Camembert, quiche and pâté and they sipped coffee with Parisian style. Then we had a table quiz testing general French knowledge, from Edith Piaf to Thierry Henry via François Hollande and Stromae.
Apart from learning their vocabulary and verbs, 2nd years have above all learnt this year that French is fun and relevant to everyone. They are imbued with a love of French culture that I hope will last for many years to come.
