As a parent, guardian or prospective student your visit to our school should give you some impression of life in Ramsgrange Community School. It is impossible to set out the whole myriad of activities that go on here but hopefully the sense of a happy, productive and caring community is palpable.
It is the vitality of the staff and students that makes Ramsgrange Community School unique. The professionalism and generosity of the staff ensure that the highest standards are expected and strived for in all aspects of school life for each child.
The Department of Education and Skills, in a recent Whole School Inspection Report (WSE-MLL) (April 2019), stated the following ;
“The overall quality of school leadership and management is very high; there is a highly effective senior management team, a committed board of management and a dedicated, collaborative middle leadership and staff working diligently to deliver a positive learning environment for students.”
“Highly effective policies and practices support students’ educational, social and personal wellbeing; it is an inclusive school which values diversity and partnership with the local community.”
“It is praiseworthy that students are recognised by those in leadership and management roles as stakeholders, value their views, actively consult and engage with students to review and improve teaching.”
“In the vast majority of lessons students were engaged or highly engaged in learning and classroom interactions were highly respectful and positive, and conducive to wellbeing.”
This is reflected in the everyday practices of our Staff. Our Code of Behaviour was used by the National Principal’s Network as a model for best practice where positive rewards are the priority.
Our school is going from strength to strength, our numbers have grown to 630 students. This is a reflection of the success story that is our hard working and dedicated staff.
This growth has been identified by the Department of Education and the school has been sanctioned funding for an extension that will include, 10 classrooms, a 3rd Science lab, a dedicated Music room and a full SEN Base. This is wonderful news for our school and the entire community.
You are most welcome to our website, we hope it helps make your decision on ‘where to send your child’, an easier one.
