EU Roots Project
Trip to the Netherlands
Transition Year students, Lorraine, Danielle, Mary, Dean and Ultan travelled to The Netherlands as part of the EU Roots project. Ms Curtis Jones and Ms Coughlan accompanied the students. This was the final conference for this project; however there are hopes to begin a new three year project in September. The conference officially began on Thursday with students presenting their country to the other participating countries, which included: Italy, Czech Republic, Germany, Norway, Belgium and The Netherlands. The students took part in workshops on Thursday and Friday, including a ‘Trash Art’ workshop which our students thoroughly enjoyed. On Saturday students and teachers travelled to Den Bosch. The days’ activities included a boat trip along the canals. The conference finished with a barbeque and disco in the school on Saturday night. On one the highlights of the trip was Lorraine’s Irish dancing display at the barbeque. The trip was a very successful one, enjoyed by both students and teachers.
