What is TL21?
TL21 means Teaching and Learning for the 21st Century.
Who is involved?
TL21 is being led by NUI Maynooth and RCS is one of only 4 schools in Wexford chosen to participate.
Why get involved?
TL21 is set up to help schools prioritise areas of learning within the school context. The group involved then carry out action research to address the prioritised areas.
Why Action Research?
Action research is proven to improve practice.
Action Research is used to generate theory that is grounded in the process of improving practice.
Action Research is used to test the validity of the claim that practice has been improved.
in summary the purpose of Action Research is to create new knowledge and generate new theory.
Who is involved in TL21 in RCS?
There is a dedicated team of teachers along with the Principal, Deputy Principal and Guidance Counsellor who are currently involved. Members of the TL21 team will attend workshops over 2 years in Co. Wexford Educational Centre.
What is our focus?
We are looking at Maths based Literacy. We are currently at the stage of collecting and collating baseline data. This page will be updated at each stage of the project.
