Principal & Deputy Principal’s Welcome
Welcome to our website, today’s link to a school which has educated the young men and women of the South West Wexford Community for many decades.
Indeed, if you yourself are a past-pupil you may be viewing today’s school from anywhere on the globe. Welcome back! We are certain that you will see occasional glimpses from your past among the many new developments. We encourage you to explore our past-pupil section and to register with us.
As a parent, guardian or prospective student this site should give you some impression of life in Ramsgrange Community School. It is impossible to set out the whole myriad of activities that go on here but hopefully the sense of a happy, productive and caring community is palpable.
It is the vitality of the staff and students that makes Ramsgrange Community School unique. The professionalism and generosity of the staff ensure that the highest standards are expected and strived for in all aspects of school life for each child.
The Department of Education and Skills, in a recent SPHE inspection Report (May 2013), stated that ‘Ramsgrange CS is proactive in promoting a positive environment for learning. Key messages in regard to respect, courtesy and behaviour were communicated in a consistent and clearly visible manner throughout’.
We would like to re-iterate our Mission Statement that:
“Ramsgrange Community School is a welcoming, open and inclusive school. Our aim is to develop each student as a whole person by promoting an atmosphere of respect, honesty and fairness in which all the school community can achieve their full potential.”
This is reflected in the everyday practices of our Staff. We are very proud of the fact that our School Self Evaluation Plan on Numeracy has been highly commended by the PDST (Professional Development Service for Teachers). Our Code of Behaviour will be used by the National Principal’s Network as a model for best practice where positive rewards are the priority.
