Activity Week 2017
Ramsgrange Community School held it’s annual Activity Week last week. The week kicked off with the Mile Challenge, a hotly contested annual event where the best boy and girl are awarded the “Liam Fardy Perpetual Shield”. This years event was won by Ronan Prendergast in a time of 5.14 and Sinead O Loughlin was the fastest girl in the school in 6.40, a very impressive feat considering she is only in first Year! 5th years went “Team Building” in Shielbaggan Outdoor pursuits centre, 2nd Years went Orienteering in the JFK Arboretum and Third Years held a hotly contested badminton tournament. First years competed for medals in their Sports Day. The highlight of the week was the annual Teachers versus 6th Years Basketball match where the teachers ran out impressive winners in the end (34 – 21) following a tightly fought match. The school welcomes the Women’s World Cup trophy this Tuesday at 9.30 with officials from the IRFU and Leinster rugby. Finally congratulations and the best of luck to our U14 boys hurlers who are through to the Leinster Final! Well done boys and their coaches PE teachers Brendan Furlong and Robert Doran.
